The Blackness Pits is very buggy (and at present broken)

The kickoff two games are great, but the black pits is terrible. You can't brand your own characters (they offset off dead and tin't be resurrected), and one-half way through playing there was an update and all the fonts suddenly changed and are now competely unreadablly small.

Now worthy of 5 stars

My originaly review from 2017 gave this this game just 2 stars because the developer was unable to provide the latest version of the game on the Mac App Store for years while updated versions of the game were available on other platforms (the MAS version was stuck on version 1.3 for 3 years while the rest of the earth was enjoying version ii.5).

Lo and behold, information technology at present appears the developer finally updated the MAS version. Every bit a result, I can now heartily recommend Baldur's Gate Two Enhanced Edition. This is a classic RPG that has been given new life. Fantastic, mythic storylines filled with drama, romance, humor, and wit, Badlur's Gate EE has virtually endless replay value. Well worth the money if y'all love a practiced story and enjoy solid imaginative D&D gameplay. Buy it!

It's been two years since version 1.three came out, and version for other systems and platforms have moved on past version ii.0 then some. The developer has given zippo but non-conceivable excuses for why they can't update the Mac App Store version of this game. I would accept given this game five stars except for the fact that the Mac App Store version is seriously outdated, with hundreds more bugs than the current version available on Steam. At that place is no alibi for a failure to update of this magnitude. Practise non buy.

No promise for updates?

I'm adding my vocalization to the complaints almost a complete lack of updates since 1.3. It's as if Beamdog has abandoned the Mac App Store version of this game and that is severely disappointing. I'd say, "Lesson learned. I'll just buy games on another platform from at present on," simply how is that an adequate outcome?

Such a shame, because while a number of aspects of the game are dated, it's all the same a great deal of fun to get that D&D fix. (Especially when it'southward hard to get a group of friends together for the actual tabletop game!)
